OFSTED Inspection – March 2018
Dear Parents, friends and supporters,
You may well be aware that at the end of March we had a full Ofsted Inspection. We had expected a short inspection, but due to issues that Ofsted had with our data returns, they came for a full three days, with a full team.
We generally accept the overall findings that they have reached, but are disappointed in the judgements and would have liked to maintain our good overall rating. On my appointment, I was aware of areas that needed to be improved and have worked with the rest of the team here to implement the necessary changes. These have included safeguarding, policy review, staff code of conduct and continuing to develop our Access to Community and Employment programmes.
We have already begun to put in place robust and sensible responses to Ofsted’s suggestions for improvement and I look forward to working with my team and Trustees in taking these forward. In the autumn, we will be introducing exciting changes to the timetable, which will give a greater focus to the student’s journey while at Pennine and beyond. There will be more information available, in the next few months, on our website. If anyone has questions about the report beforehand, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
In the meantime, a big thank you to all who responded to the Ofsted survey so positively. 92% of responses said that they would strongly agree with recommending us to others who needed a college. When you read the report I hope, that like me, the positive things we do outweigh the areas we need to improve.
