Work began on our exciting new Craft Hub building at the end of June 2009 and we moved in just a couple of days before the beginning of term in September 2010.
Now all our workshops are together. The pottery, woodwork and weaving workshop moved from the former colliery buildings, the basket workshop and Tools for Self Reliance (TfSR) moved from portacabins and a new horticulture workshop completes the hub.
The workshops continue to have access to our outdoor spaces through green woodwork, willow beds and outdoor kilns. All the workshops have networked computers for students and co-workers to set aims and record progress. A mixture of high- and low-tech builds on our hands on learning.
